Associate Artistic Administrator

We seek an Associate Artistic Administrator who along with the Executive and Artistic Director, General Manager, Director of Artistic Planning and Artistic Administrator will work on general planning of concert season. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: assist in research and develop major festivals and special projects as well as major associated educational activities in collaboration with the Artistic Planning and Education teams; work with Director of Artistic


Planning on exploration and implementation of special projects; represent and develop digital presence for Artistic Planning initiatives with e-Strategy department on an operational basis; assist in the development of relationships with other arts, cultural, and educational organizations as well as individual artists; interface with advisors across multiple cultural genres to gather information and ideas for collaborative implementation; serve as primary logistical contact between Carnegie Hall and partner organizations for festivals and focuses.


Represent Carnegie Hall Artistic Planning team at Carnegie Hall presentations and at partner events outside Carnegie Hall as required. Work with production team to implement elements of special project concert plans as required. Write materials supporting Carnegie Hall programming, both main season and special programming, for internal and external use. Review and edit specified Marketing, Public Affairs, and e-Strategy materials related to specific programmatic focuses prior to publication.


With Director of Artistic Planning and Artistic Administrator, advise on program annotators and Playbill. With Director of Artistic Planning, organize programmatic elements of preconcert talks and special programming events (Discovery Days, et al.). Schedule dates, hire artists, prepare contracts and assist with day-of production. Prepare the budget for each season’s preconcert talks. Participate in concert duty rotation Manage and update events in Chron chronological database as necessary.


Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree with strong music background. Excellent writing skills. Strong communication skills and collaborative spirit. Broad understanding of other art forms. Appreciation of different cultures and ability to work within an international arena. Entrepreneurial and creative thinker who is self-motivated and able to work independently. 3-5 years of proven project management skills. 3-5 years of work with artists and artist managers.
