Director of Marketing

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, which will celebrate its’ 45th Anniversary in the 2015-2016 season, is seeking an experienced and dynamic professional to lead its Marketing Team.


Reporting to the VP, Marketing and Sales, the Director of Marketing will develop and execute successful marketing programs, to promote awareness and drive revenues for more than 700 performances in the disciplines of theater, dance, jazz, chamber music, comedy, family performances, and major international festivals. The marketing team also provides marketing strategies for the National Symphony Orchestra, Washington National Opera and VSA, the international organization on arts and disabilities, as well as the Center’s extensive education programs.


This position requires 8 -10+ years of experience in marketing/advertising with a minimum of 5+ years of leadership experience, preferably in the arts and entertainment industry. The successful candidate will have significant experience in the areas of symphonic and operatic performance. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in communications, marketing or related field required.
