The Director of Development of Taliesin, the Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture will lead the institution’s efforts to secure the funding necessary for both its immediate and long-term operation. Working with the Dean and School Board, the Director of Development is responsible for strategic planning, leadership, fundraising cultivation and solicitation of donors, and direction and supervision of all communications designed to enhance the mission and vision of the Foundation. The Director will be responsible for the immediate implementation of the Campaign for Independence, which seeks to raise $2 million on a short-term basis. In addition, the Director will plan, organize, and execute future programs designed to provide income from scheduled and repeatable annual fundraising efforts.
Taliesin embodies the architecture of openness, building with the land, learning by doing, and experimentation. For decades, Fellows, students, faculty, and staff have worked together to continue Frank Lloyd Wright’s work and to find new ways that architecture can make our human-made world better. Now the School is on a path to independence, and is moving enthusiastically toward the independent incorporation that is necessary to retain accreditation—and autonomy for future decision-making.
