Coralville Center for Performing Arts

The City of Coralville, Iowa is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, and dynamic Managing Director for the Coralville Center for the Performing Arts. Coralville is a progressive, growing community of approximately 19,000 located next door to the University of Iowa. Coralville Center for the Performing Arts is a 472 seat theater in the heart of Coralville’s Town Center. The theater opened in 2011 and has been a cultural addition to the community hosting 157 public events this past year. The ideal candidate will play an important role in continuing to establish its cultural presence and performance potential in the region and to facilitate two community theater programs recently merged under its operations.

This position will plan, coordinate, administer, supervise, and evaluate all operations related to the Coralville Center for the Performing Arts. The successful candidate will demonstrate ability to build relationships with many arts, culture, and business organizations, ability to create a program involving volunteers and philanthropic giving to the theater, ability to seek grant opportunities and prepare grants, and ability to coordinate theater operations with staff and volunteers.

Graduation from an accredited four (4) year college or university with bachelor’s degree in performing arts management, theater management, business administration, arts administration , or related field; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the essential knowledge, skill, and abilities.

Four (4) years experience in a supervisory/administrator role desired. Must be able to work night and weekend hours as the job requires.
