The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage seeks a candidate with deep and broad expertise in contemporary visual art, including knowledge of performance practice that grows out of visual art and other hybrid forms. The Center is a Philadelphia-based multidisciplinary regional grantmaker as well as a hub for knowledge sharing on issues of cultural practice.
This is an ideal position for a clear, and intellectually flexible thinker and communicator who understands the need for discretion, has good organizational judgment, and works well as part of a team. Five years of experience in the visual arts and a Master’s degree or MFA in arts practice or administration, or the equivalent in experience, are preferred. The candidate must also possess a strong interest in arts grantmaking and strategic philanthropy, and an ability to understand and work within The Pew Charitable Trusts’ culture and values as embodied in The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage. This position reports to the Director of Exhibitions and Public Interpretation, but also will play a substantial role in grantmaking, programming and general administration, and will interact closely with other Center senior staff as well.
